    Pagerank = it is a way Google measures inbound link rating... Although PR is not that important anymore, PR is just used as a reference only.

    Why are you trying to improved Alexa rank? Since alexa is only a rank of a site based on estimated traffic. I don't think it affect rankings.

    Alex rank and page rank are totally different. Alex rank decide from your daily website traffic and page rank generated by Google according to your particular page's quality and link popularity.

    PR just displays how importance that specific page is for visitors, according to Google.

    Now, PageRank is just to impress the Client and attract more link builders, nothing more then that!

    PR is as important as people want to make it.

    I'd say that having a nice PR5 or PR6 is a great tool from a marketing perspective, whether it affects the search engines or not.

    i've just checked this thread and you are facing many queries about SEO, so @Alisha its Harder to Explain some important factors in 1-2 paragraph and it will also difficult for you to understand all the SEO theory in short answers. so better would just google your all the queries.

    First you should read the complete google webmaster guidelines and after that check the seobook.com, you can also browse and search DP's some important past threads.

    Link popularity is a general Representation of the Total number of web pages which link to a website (or individual web page).

    Most of the major search engines support the "link:" operator. enter in “link:” (without the quotation marks) in front of the URL about which you want to learn.

    you can use tools to check the link popularity like seochat,

    seochat.com/seo-tools/link-popularity/
