Hi members I know PR is page rank but i want to know the significance of submitting the information of your sites in the high PR directories? How it helps to promote our site Waiting for the suggestions and information from all of you. Nazia
Submitting your link to other site is backlink creation. The more backlink the more PR you will have. But, submitting to one PR8 site is better than submitting to hundred PR0 site. Get the big picture?
try to sumit your website info in directories whose pr is 3 or 3+.....and submit your targeting region directories. Ex. if your targeting region is US the try to submit in us directories.....
I've never been a fan of Pagerank, it's caused grief for many a website, and laid the foundation for yet more crap MFA & link seller directories. Besides, Google will just devalue any effort put in to those that engage in this practise. Going the directory route to sell links via pagerank is so pointless - Google is watching you
I agree with you but PR 2 is also a high PR then submitting into PR 2 and above will not be beneficial? Nazia
I find that high PR directories are mostly paid and if they are free take lot of time in reviewing your site.
I appreciate your reply to my post, is it really happens that high PR directories takes much time to get back than Low PR directories? I have no such idea that is why i m asking from all of you experienced peoples here in this forum. Nazia
PR is something that has little or no value in e-commerce as there is not many business's that would be prepared to backlink to competition which is pretty much the idea behind Google's wanting to improve the web. Many very high quality sites have little or no PR and sites with absolutely rubbish content with high PR. It can be useful in other areas of the web though but not in e-commerce.
Links from high PR pages are much less subject to dilution due to the other outbound links on the linking page. You can look at the number of outgoing links as the number of "holes in the water bucket."
Don't worry too much about PR. Instead you should be looking for links from relevant directories. Niche directories are the first place to start. Then go on to the general directories that have categories for your niche. Find one of the many directory lists out there and add your site to some of them every day. You'll be happy with the results in 6 months.
I want to say thanks to all of you who has given your precious time to my post and to make it full of relevant information. Nazia
