500 UV's Per Day - $0 Per Day! Why?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by m1ndless, Jun 29, 2008.

My site is growing, and I am getting 500+ UV's per day, but I am only making about $1 per day, I get 1-2 clicks per day on average.

    Why?

    Wrong Ad Placement
Users dont like what your ads are about

Try using the ad filter to be information about your niche

Yeah. They don't like your ads. Maybe put ads that are related to your forum like.. if it's about euro 2008 ( example beacuse I'm watching my spainnn winning right now) then opst about euro soccer information, or soccer information in general, the niche..

My niche is streaming movies. Since it's legal, I can use adsense, right?

It's not normal, getting a ctr of around .4% blows.

You need to improve your placement. It sounds like you're getting a good cpc but your ctr sucks.

    1-2 clicks makes you 1$ ?

And how can you tell that streaming movie is legal?

I think it is the time for you to study on the ads size and the placement if you want to get higher CTR

I have a streaming site that streams videos from youtube/filefront/putfile and I used to get a 0.05% ctr but recently a new advertiser has placement targeted my site in my particular niche and increased my ctr to around 1.2% :D I was making $0.2 a day, now im making 10 fold minimum!

Tweak the ads placement, make your ads not like ads

    Who are you using now?

I changed it to links, it blends with my site, looks like they are links for my site, not google ads almost.

It's 100% legal to post streaming movies, I am not the one uploading them, that is the illegal part, this is a gray area.

If you don't like my niche, that's fine, but keep it to yourself.

I am getting closer to 1k UV's not that I added "Wanted" and "Get Smart".

This really is not a grey area. Whether you are hosting or linking to copyrighted material does not matter to Google.

The movies can be previewed and viewed without users leaving your site. Besides risking your Adsense account, this can open you up to other legal problems.

    Google states:

"Website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content."

There are other advertising opportunities available, with different companies, that are more tolerant of Website content. You may want to look into that before Google reviews your site...

BTW, your signature link to the site ends in .bom and won't load. Is this a typo or intentional?

My bad, that is a typo. I am going to remove the ads when I get on tonight then, I cannot get on blogger at work, I thought I could have them up, I made a thread about it and everyone told me it would be fine to put adsense ads on a streaming movie blog. :(

Google normally does a human review of sites just prior to the first payment being issued. Adsense is a one shot deal, so better to find out about it now instead of getting the dreaded "risk to advertisers" termination E-mail from Google.

You have some good movies posted so I can see why you are getting traffic. :)

Good luck with your future projects.
