We have gone over this, months ago. An old, tired thing. It's long dead.

I'm not going to go back over 100's of posts and pages to do your work for you, Homebiz. Suffice it to say the current Prez is also afoul of the issue, for starters. I have provided the link to one main line in this ancient discussion. If you are interested, you may take a look. I'll get you started: here, here, and everywhere, as the song goes.

To not pledge allegiance to the United States is acceptable. I find it odd to want to be the leader and not pledge allegiance to the country you want to represent. I hear the issue asked often on talk radio and in forums. I did not realize it was ancient discussion when everyone was talking about it on my flight yesterday.

Who said he did not pledge allegiance?

Homebiz, if you want to try to construct something, you'll have to do more than ignore:

For example. The links are there, if you sincerely don't know, but are interested in finding out. Happy hunting.

The more you hear about Obama the more it makes you wonder how he feels about the US:

    Raised a Muslim in Childhood
As a teenager he had a communist mentor
Joined a black separatist (Trinity Church) with ties to Nation of Islam
Obama has 'Nation of Islam' Senate staff members and interns
Associated with former members of leftist terrorist group - Weather Underground
Wife Michele Obama has said that she has never been proud of America

Bogart, you are repeating talking points from the very thread linked above.

C'mon, man. The deadest of dead ponies. I take a good deal of satisfaction of exchanging with you on the merits - witness the "Churchill/WW2" thread, but this stuff - drawn out in spades, months ago - let it die, as it did, and should.

He wasn't, but there would be nothing wrong if he were. We either embrace what we claim our ideals are in America, or we do not.

To be honest I'd rather vote for a moderate, non-violent muslim than for a christian who panders to the wacko far christian right. I mean, if I made up my mind based on religious grounds.

I just want to reiterate, so Bogart see's this aswell. Muslims are human beings, as are Jews, Blacks and Asans. Because of warfare, and dirty tactics, our beliefs are misinterpretated (most of the time on purpose) and used against us at our disadvantage. Just like everyone, the goal is peace and people make the mistake of thinking that some random person represents all 1.8 billion.

As the Iranian comedian (Yes, Iran does have comedians!), Omid Djalili said, when he was mocking the BBC - "Now, for a fair and balanced view on the middle east, lets go to Muslim nutcase, with a hook for a hand, Abu Hamza"

It would be foolish to believe these people, such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban represent Muslims, just as it would be foolish to believe that Baruch Goldstein represents all Jews, or that the group that were planning to poison water supplys in west virginia represents Christians.

For an accurate representation of Muslims people should look to where they would look if they wanted an accurate representation of Jews or Christians, they should look to prominent Scholars, such as Ahmad Deedat (I suggest if you have some spare time to check his debates on youtube or his books which you can find on Amazon, a truly amazing man) and Hadiths and of course the Quran.

Also if anyone is into movies i highly reccomend they see the epic blockbuster, The Message, about Islam and it's origins, a must see for anyone who needs more understanding of what it is and how it became.

http://www.islamonline.net is a good resource, where you can ask scholars questions.

Sincerley from me, North, i just feel it had to be said to clear the air a bit.

Everyone talks about his father. His father abandoned him at the age of 2 and met him only once after that. So how could he influence anything in Barack Obama's life?

His step father was an atheist.

And what about the mother? doesn't she have an influence on Obama? She was not muslim. What about the grandparents, with who Obama lived from the age of 10 till college? Did they not have any influence? They were christians. How can you say that he was raised a muslim?
