Does anyone know which site is the best to sell digital art work online? I'm looking to see if I can sell some of my grunge art work.

Better sell it offline, in my experience sell print artworks on art exhibition or art gallery, could be 8-10 times more expensive than the online price because most print artworks buyers always want to see the hard copy, not only see the picture.

i agree with bnandika, how often is a famous piece of artwork sold for millions, even not so famous ones.. but you never get that with online work.

If you think your work is good enough, or even unique enough, then expose it withought the internet, im sure you could talk to gallerys, perhaps set up a public one, or organise a party, say there will be drinks ect, invite, you will get exposure.

    good luck

    Hiya

    How about

    > selling art on ETSY
    > selling art on Big Cartel

Hope they are useful. My site (in the signature) is completely dedicated to selling art online, so please check it out and give me some feedback. Hope that's useful.

agreed... otherwise if its just online art then you could make an app to let peeps use your art on their social networking pages and make money from the advertisement revenue... most only ever make at max $xx a month so it might not be an option that you'd consider... however, get a niche and your profit margin could be exponential..

Similarly, does anyone know of any directories or websites related to art where your can promote our own website?

Etsy is the best for 'traditional' art and handmade things. I don't know how much success you will have with digital works. Deviant art might be your best venue for that.
You could maybe try and get your art on a site like http://www.rasterized.org/ to help promote it.
