how long before one can expect to see money coming in from a site? Let's assume that the site is marketed properly: good content article marketing forum participation proper link exchange and directory submission etc etc etc I've read many times to expect it to take 6-12 months. Then I read it could take 2-3 years! Would love some feedback on this.
Well money can start comming in the first day you start the site, with ads if you get paid in advance by a person to put their ads on your site, also people may click you adsense (or similar) ads, so you will also make money that way. But if your actually wanting to "make money" meaning covering all costs such as hosting, domain, advertisements well then you are looking a few months to a year, but you will still bring in some money before this. Also it depends on your site, some will never make money and others will make millions!!!
It depends on what are you selling as well. If you are selling $7 report, you can start seeing income the next day after you have posted several good content in forums with signatures linking to your offers
Whoever told you it took 6-12 months to make money from a site? This is way inaccurate. You can get quality traffic from Google in well under ONE MONTH. I have a site that gets over twenty thousand uniques a month straight from seo, and it's only been around for three months. Also there are many methods for fast traffic like forums, JVs, email marketing etc.
Money will come from the first visitor, although i doubt a fraction of a cent will get you all that excited. Really though money will come after a few months, presuming your traffic levels are growing to a min several hundred uniques a day.
It depends. It could be 1 minute after you start a site, or it could be 5 years. It depends on how you market and manage the site.
It all depends on what you know there are no minimums or maximums thats b.s. if you know what to do and how to do it you can make a sale the minute the site goes up. If you do nothing the guys post of a 5 year max is not enough. Do good marketing and not really what you listed above and you will make money.
I'm particular interested in what you wrote. Everything I've read says what I've listed above is the way to go. But you don't feel that is good marketing? And if not, then what is?
How long is a piece of string? As long as you follow your own marketing strategies, eventually the traffic will come. Quality content is the key! All the best, John.
I am very confused by people who can put numbers on when a site will start to make a profit. That is an impossible question to answer. Each site is different! It all depends on the niche, the traffic, the conversion of that traffic, ad so many more factors. I have a blog that made money in one month and I have a blog that has never made money. Cant answer this question!
I think people say min 6-12 months so newbies don't get discouraged too soon. Other than that, I agree with you 100% I find interesting about your one site making money right off and the other making nothing. Do you feel it's simply the niche or did you use different tactics on the two blogs?
There is no set answer but it DEFINITELY shouldn't take more than a few weeks at most. It all depends on the marketing. I have sites I put up that make money AS SOON as they are live - BUT, I know how to drive traffic to them. My new site that I just put up to sell my new ebook is getting traffic and was in the top of Google within hours. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE NICHE MARKET AND THE MARKETING. If you choose the wrong market you may never make money. You must do your research, choose the right keywords, build content based sites or blogs, and promote them CORRECTLY. It all depends on the marketing. You could start making money the first day, but that wont be alot. but i beleive that after a few months of good marketing, and if you get a good base of people, you could start makign quite abit of money.
Well the site I have that does not make money is because of the niche... I am the expert in that niche, but is not a niche that can be monitized well, if at all! The reason I have the site is because I want to grow the niche as well as my reputation in the niche. So while it is not making money, it is still a worthwhile venture!
Getting traffic and building a list should work well for almost any list. Put some Google Adsense ads on your pages for easy money when you first start.
