Whats this electrical component called???

    Hey guys, hope someone can help me with this...

    There is a part on the motherboard that is a round thing wrapped in copper wire - whats it called????

    That thing is call Radio Frequency (RF) Chokes. It purpose is to reduce interference with other electronic devices.

    Some motherboard have it and some don't. So, it's not a must have component on your motherboard.

    Thanks dynashox! My 5 yr old son said he thought they were called something like 'techuaries'....he couldn't remember where he heard that, but was very sure lol...
    So, anyone heard of an electrical component called something like 'techuaries' or similar??
