There was a thread in Sites section where some "xyz" (I am not exposing anyone's names here) person wanted to buy sites earning $50-$100 per month. I posted the link to my site which I wanted to sell. It was not earning that much but many times I have seen people buying sites with lesser earnings than they had stated since they liked the site/script/niche/content etc. So I just posted my thread link. But because of this I got a negative reputation from (SOMEONE.. I know who he is but I don't wanna start a personal war) saying that why I posted my site there as it doesn't earn as much stated. Ok leave about the negative reputation. He commented me saying "LEARN TO READ STUPID INDIAN" I wanted to know, was there any need for him to make such a racist comment? Do people really think such about INDIANS here on DP? I didn't give him a negative reputation back but instead PMed him saying that I am not gonna give you any red rep to show what an INDIAN is.. I just want to know about your views on this and did I do the right thing? Here is the screenshot of that comment :
chuck it man!! move on... the -ve Rep and the comment doesnt matter.. does it ? opening a thread about this issue is the worst thing you can do at the moment coz u might get a few more red reps now... it would have been better if you'd kept it with u rather showing it in public
I work with Indians in the earlier part of my career. IMHO, Indians respect hierarchy a lot. So when they come to a new place, they are a bit too polite and too obedient to supervisors. It takes time for them to adapt to the new environment and to be able to express themselves and assert themselves. They are basically quite ok on English just that maybe the way they speak are different. But each country have their own pronunciation but they are extremely capable of learning and adapting. The main strengths of Indians seems to be they are extremely hardworking and are extremely good in work that requires logical thinking. Give them sometime and once they assert themselves and overcome their initial shyness, they are as good as anyone around. Don't be upset over ugly people who are racial prejudiced. These people are normally insecure themselves and need to bully others just to make themselves feel superior. These people themselves are normally closeted because of inferiority complex, just ignore them.

Whether people are Indian or not is not taken into account when i do deals on DP. Also, when people ask for sites making a specific amount and someone posts a site out of that criteria it is just annoying and makes it look like you haven't read the OP, maybe keep that in mind next time.
I deal with indians a lot in business and I have to say they are very dedicated and hard working. They have a very good positive attitude and good manners too. Although their english is sometimes hard to understand, overall I think indians are awesome.
could you please the give the link to the thread or post the little content because I have also seen that many post sites with less earnings etc but in some cases OP posts that don't post if your site is not earning XX$ in that case you should not post however a neg rep is very harsh
Well, It doesn't matter what race you belong to, its your ability and capability that matters and making such a racist comment is totally uncalled for. As much as you can ask a person to ignore it, it does hurt. Saying this from having personal experience of being at the receiving end several times when i was younger.
In some countries Indians are received and are summarily treated the same way as Indians receiving newcomers to their country. DP super MOD getjimmy, an INDIAN did make known to a lot of people in 2007 the traditions and cultures excersized by Indians across the many nations of earth.
Well I really don't want to start a personal war with posting that link. The reason for making this thread is that, it's the second time that I am being commented for similar issues. I have one more comment that I got few days earlier which is similar to this. I have been on DP since Feb 2008 but never faced such instances before. Anyways I have understood now that I should ignore it and really move on..
I am not Indian, and two days ago (June 27th) I got -rep from a chicken who didn't write his/her name. He/she wrote "F***ING INDIAN GO DIE I am very upset about this. And what made me more disappointed was : the -rep based on one of my post in BST forum, I wrote this : "Your post is live now. Thank you for the smooth transaction. Hope doing another business in the future." I really don't understand why that F***ING RACIST do things like this.
There are always those with too much time in their hand, who do not dare to confront you head on but just hide in a corner trying to taunt you. Just ignore these guys. Lots of them around.

Maybe that people was scammed by an Indian before, possible more than one. If the first creature I would encounter from Mars tried to kill me, I would claim that Martians are hostile lol. I'm not justifying that guy's attitude. I'm just trying to enter his mind. Of course what he said is wrong. It's a human nature to generalize. We all know that it's wrong, but we do it at times.
