What other places to promote my directory

i've noticed that posting here in DP, i get alot of submissions from other directory owners (which is great) but if im looking for other types of sites to be submitted, where else do you guys promote?

Well you should submit to other directory lists that many webmasters (who are not directory owners) use

Submitting to directory rate / directory critic and other popular lists will bring in all type of traffic to your directory (including spam) .

 

free or paid? it's a big difference~!

Not busting your bubble, but that approach is common ( free ), and so your up to speed from my angle is submitting random to multiple crap ( note not good ) free directories has similar analgies to peeing in the wind.

Look at where you want your visitors to come from, look where they hang out and pay for some ads in those areas, mix it up a bit

Been that way for as long as I can remember. Look at the directories promoted here - they're chock full of other directories that are promoted here and little else.

Yes, I'm surprised so many go this route. Just end up being spammed to death.

 

It is one of the sadest sites to look in S&A and see these people sqabbling like seagulls over a chip.

Please submit to my new pr4 directory, beg beg, I'm on one knee will you please add another directory to my already 1000 directories.

They just seem to swap directory listings with directory listings and nothing else.

Then you see, instant approval, i have many submissions so it will take me a few minutes to approve all and the horror stories goes on.

Any serious person would stay away from this crap. The problem as i see it these people know nothing outside of the 12 inch computer screen, as indicated by how do i promte my directory, how do i get traffic, i get no visitors and on we go again.
