There’s really no such thing as Google bombing therefore it cannot be history, it is just a site with massive anchored-text back-links, cannot be history (as in "finished", cannot happen). It happens all the time, that’s how those almost no content celebrity sites rank so well, sometimes, for example.
I completely disagree. You can define Google bombing as an intentional effort to make somebody else's search results negative. That's what's going on here. There most certainly is such a thing as "Google bombing" and it has definitely worked before ("miserable failure").
