Well, Iv'e been posting a bit, since I joined this forum, with our MySpace site/Company site in my signature line. I'd like a critique, however, of our MySpace site, instead of our actual company website. For someone who is new to html/CSS, I have worked extremely hard to develop our MySpace site.....but, it seems like when I look at the MySpace site, on different computers, it appears to look somewhat differently...... I'm a perfectionist.....and, I want our MySpace site to be as appealing as possible and have a 'feel' to it that presents our company in a positive and exciting light...... http://www.myspace.com/dufflebagdepot Do you think it has an aesthetic appeal when you visit it? to a younger U.S. Military Population? ....The red borders appear slightly different dependent upon which computer we use to view it......and, well, I was just wondering if they look 'off' or not aligned properly, to anyone when they view it? Is there anything we could do better in order to make it more appealing and user friendly? Does it take very long for it to load for you? And critique would be greatly appreciated! thank you! Howie
That's quite a unique myspace page, I think it looks good the color scheme and the layout is excellent, good job.
Thank you for the response, kingofsanda! I was just looking at your signature, and, I was wondering.....has it been very difficult getting your dating sites off the ground?.....It's something I always thought about pursuing, but, it seems like there are so many well established dating sites out there already......seems like it would make it difficult to emerge with new ones.......do alot of people use yours?
I don't know much about Myspace layouts or viewers, but my only thought is the top graphic takes up the entire top third. If it were a little smaller we could get a peak of what's coming below. Other than that it looks very professional and I would think appealing to that visitor.
See, that's the thing we noticed, as well.......the top graphic is pretty big, but, dependent upon the type of resolution/computer screen, it looks significantly different on different computers.......I have thought about removing it completely, but, for now, I'm just going to keep it.......i'm not sure what the resolution is, but it looks pretty awesome on another computer i looked at it on....
Top logo is stupdily huge, there's no need for it, you can build your brandname without ramming it down peoples throats
Depending on the resolution you view it at, it actually looks pretty good.......lol....and, it wasn't meant to be 'rammed' down anyone's throats.....it was to give our MySpace page an identity that wasn't lame....
........and, could anyone tell me if, for your computer, if you have to SCROLL over significantly to see the entire MySpace site? thank you!
Thanks again for the feedback, everyone! Iv'e gotten mixed critiques here and at other forums......and it doesnt look all that bad on this computer im using, so ill probably just leave it....
I don't know much about myspace, but this site takes a long time to load. In my experience most surfers will not wait for the loading time. Maybe its the music thats making it take so long to load.
As you've been saying... the logo is better on different resolutions.. I think a majority of your viewers will see it as huge.. because I'm using a 19 inch.. and it's still massive.
