Stuff I recently did to some new websites, and seen a huge increase from Yahoo. 1. Internal Linking I have used some within the page, and at the footer. Make sure put to this on every page possible. 2. Backlinks from different sources. International directories are great or with different languages. Articles!!!! <<make sure to post the article on your blogpage first before submitting it elsewhere. 3. Use long Anchor Text Keywords 4. Blog frequently ON YOUR WEBSITE. Try to put the blog on your homepage, and use internal linking to spread the juice to other pages. Your domain should be like a pyramid. The top domain being at the top, and the less important further down. Submit your blog, and make sure to ping it! Spiderbots love fresh content so dont make your website stale! 5. Stop using some many images that makes your webpage load in minutes instead of seconds. Spiderbots are like US Navy Seals....they go in AND they immediately come out. They go into a building and all they see is pictures. What do you think they're going to do? Nothing here....LET'S GO! If they find countless cabinets of info, they'll start spending more time trying to acquire info. 6. Use the link command on YOUR page and your Competitor's page. Look at the all the links, and you will see a pattern with the top links. They're usually some type of blogs with high PR rankings. Gee I wonder where you should spend more time at/on? 7. Sometimes it's always good to leave your best articles ON YOUR PAGE. I have noticed that many ppl are taking content from my page, and giving me a full dofollow link with my content. If you save your best content for ezine, they'll just a link to ezine. This will benefit you in the long run. 8. If you're going to blog comment (to put a backlink) make sure to do it in a highly ranked/highly visited/do follow blogs. Most spiderbots visit it, and they're more than likely to see your site. What website is a good website to leave your 'spam' link? Try tmz You will notice fast results from yahoo/google. Don't get banned from there now.
Most of AOL blogs have dofollow links. They're also highly visited by regular visitors and spiderbots.
Nice observation. and good tips..I dont understand with the "link command". Can you clear it in depth?
Here's one of the sites from AOL which is great to put backlinks with dofollow tags. http://sports.aol.com **Please don't send messages....just ask/reply here.
Not much different for Google or Live. Google (from what I have experience) doesn't like too many internal linking. I tried to link up a lot of words, and waited 3-4 weeks. My results were lower after doing so. Google LOVES fresh content. You have to have a blog on your front page to take FULL advantage of this. I dont know about this info being for noobs as I don't see many ppl doing this. Having a blog makes it a lot easier for you to have fresh content & internal linking.
I especially am focused on internal linking. I've made major improvements in many of my sites, but still have more to do. If there are few/poor internal links, then SE's won't value those pages as much (unless you have plenty of backlinks). Thanks for sharing your tips.
Can some elaborate on what a good internal linking scheme would be? I think the index would link to all pages but then what?
I think putting the best links on the footer, and the average ones through the webpage within your article/blog/page.
Thanks. but i disagree with the num : 5 5. Stop using some many images that makes your webpage load in minutes instead of seconds....... .. . .. Those Spider bot cannot load the images (pictures) on pages. they will read the source code only !
Nice one, especially on point number 5. What we often see is that certain pages looks to be too overloaded with images until page loading is slowed down significantly. That would affect SEO tremendously and even visitor will get annoyed as well waiting for it to load.
Nice article but why do you think it's a "new" algo tips? Any difference with how to rank in Google? I think this is a tip for SEO in overall, not only for yahoo
