I noticed many people which present their directories says how they good pr. But i noticed one things,it is realy doesnt matter how good pr they have beacuse in most cases pr of section where you will submit your site will be always pr0,in rare cases maybe pr2-pr3.So i wonder is there any sense to submit to directories?Considering you will get pr0 backlink one way or another,so tehnicly you can gain same effect by posting link on forums, which is much easier to submit, and there is no limit in submitting links. Also forums dont require reciprocal link.
You have a good point there.. I consider directory links better than forum links because 'normally' outgoing link on a directory page are less than 20 but on a forum page I can easily see 50+ links.
I dont think so.It is enough to open let's say introduction thread, post all your websites and that's it.You get pr0 backlink for your let's say 50 sites and it is clean backlinks.
The case is that there are some directories with 10 to 20 most outgoing links in a revelant to your site niche category that having pr3 or above in the page that your link going to be and there is a small review fee of 5$ to 20$ .If you are speaking for low quality free directories that acept every link, then yes its true is about the same like posting in forums.
The toolbar PR of many directories shows PR n/a. I reckon the inner apges do really hold PR, but google is not showing this on the toolbar to prevent people like yourselves buying links in directories based solely on PR. Thats my take on it, for what its worth.
There's one relatively big directory in my market which boasts strong pagerank throughout the entire site - including the company details page, which is PR3. There are several reasons why, problem being the majority of people here don't have the intelligence to work it out. (Hint: PR x Directory - Only $3 per listing" in your signature won't help, that I assure you).
Yes, pipes said it good. It is a personal choice. As I see, for you, it is not worth submitting to directories because you are looking only for high PR backlinks. I bet that you never(or veeeery rarely) submitted to paid directories. In best of the cases you picked the free and reciprocal ones and there you got a poor listing on th 9th page of a directory C'mon ... admit it ... am I right kid ? there is a difference between spamming(or self advertising? or link baiting?) and submitting to a directory. And the conclusion....yes...the thread is about a silly question
Yes you are right , in the most cases they have good PR only on first page. But i saw some good of them which have PR 4-5 and for the first page of the internal categories. Only this directories are So Good.
I was forgot to say this apply to free directories only.I did submit a lot paid directories and they work fine more less. But again that is kind a risky considering google policy.Got it kid ?
I consider submissions to directories without any internal pages with PR as a long term pay off. If the directory survives and grows in popularity those pages will eventually get some PR. Bottom line, it takes a long time (and a lot of search engine traffic) for a directory to get PR on it's internal pages.
'normally' outgoing link on a directory page are less than 20, hmmm, if that's true - then it just proves they aren't the great resources they make out to be. Mine deliberately won't give any PR benefit, and I don't blame others for following suit. Who wants to sell PR only to be caught by Google.
If the only reason you are trying to gain backlinks is for PR then you have a lot more to learn about SEO and should invest some more time on your research.
