No matter the number of images, no matter the optimization, no matter the years the site stayed online, no matter whatever...i never got more than 5 images indexed on google images when i search for term "site:mysite.com", is google images the biggest idiotic image system on the planet or something? It just makes no sense at all...
build more links to the site, google images brings in tons and tons of traffic, you need to build more links.
yes... make it more popular also use alt="" tags in your images to describe your image... this will help them to find it.
ROFL...my images have all that is needed...alt tags...title tags...trust me dude...my sites are pretty popular (about 1 million pageviews per day)...it will be easier to plan a moon landing than getting image indexed on google, google just sucks...
Do you have a Google Webmaster Account? If you do then I suggest you check the option that allows them to index images or something like that. I remember doing it sometime ago. I get tons of traffic from all over the world via Google Images.
I've seen this issue before, if your truly optimizing the images properly you need to provide more content around them. Now, I haven't reviewed the site or source code of the web pages in question. I'd assume you need more relevant content related directly towards the image itself, as in it should match with your alt tags. Don't forget filenames of the images play an important role as well.
If you make a direct link to an image with the title "car" it will more likely be listed for car searches.
I agree. I've noticed the same issue with my site. Upon research, it seemed to me that most of our images that were indeed getting indexed, weren't because they were simply images on our site, but because there were links to the image.
I too noticed something in google webmaster tools. It asked for permission to use my images for google images. You might look into it. I however do have another site that has images showing up and its not in google webmaster tools. do a search for gaff girls and gaffmag.net shows up three times on the front page.
The images on my site that get indexed are those that have links to them. I also name images with keyword-like names and include good alt text.
