Limited Account Access Appeal Denied

I don't know what are reasons why Paypal denied my appeal. I uploaded all the necessary documents they required. I've been very cooperative with them. Now I don't know what else to do.

Does anyone here have the same situation?

Does anyone know when can withdraw my money?

Anyone could help me?

 

As long as you provided real name, address and have not violated any AUP, you can withdraw your existing funds within 180 days from the start of the limitations.

Did Paypal mentioned why your account got limited ? Is the account verified with a credit card or bank account ?

 

I'm new to paypal. I don't have cc and bank account so I asked a friend if she could allow me to have her cc and bank account details registered to paypal. She replied yes. Now when I withdraw funds the bank didn't debit it to her account because of name differ. I emailed paypal about this and they told me that I just need to send photo ID, cc statement, bank account statement and proof of address of under my friend's name. And that's what I did. I uploaded all the documents they asked. I even sent them my photo ID and proof of address.

I delete the bank account of my friend now and I register my newly opened bank account but in the resolution center it is still 'waiting for your response'

Please help..

 

Was the paypal account registered in your name or your friend's name ?

I supposed if you used your name to sign up but your friend's credit card and bank accounts, it can look like identity theft or fraud. Legally speaking, you cannot share the account or use your friends identity to verify (certify that you are your friend).

This definitely is a serious violations and probably there is no resolution to this.

 

The paypal is under my name...

According to paypal:

1) Your friend will need to provide:
- a copy of her Photo ID
- a copy of a utility bill or other proof of address
- a copy of the bank account statement ending in #### showing her name as
the account holder
- a copy of the credit card statement ending in #### showing she is
authorized to use the card

I already submitted all these documents...

 

You cannot share a paypal account. The whole purpose of verification is to use a 3rd party (in this case, the credit card bank) to verify that you provided accurate information to Paypal. When you use your friend's credit card to verify your account, you are telling Paypal that your friend is you.

Can you take your friend's driver's license or passport and use that to certify your identity ? That is basically what you are doing. In some countries, that can be deemed as identity theft.

I supposed Paypal asked for your friend's documents not so much to get the intention to get your account verified but to file more proves to limit your account.

Precisely. Most people don't get that either. Wouldn't you think it was just a LITTLE fishy if you register an account with one name, add a credit card with a different name, and add a bank with a different name? Come on, that would shoot up so many red flags. I'd have restricted the account too.

 

I'm totally new to paypal and my employer asked me to register. So I register to paypal...I don't have cc that's why I asked a friend if I could register hers. I submitted all the documents and explained everything.

 

If your employer ask you to set up a paypal account, you should register it under the company's name as a business account and place your boss as the contact and you as one of the user. Use the corporate credit card to verify the account or your boss credit card to do so. You really should not be getting your friend and you in trouble on behalf of your boss.

I think the trouble is that too many people here do not understand the purpose of verification and merely think that it is some inconvenience which they can get around with some trickeries.

In this case, you cannot say that paypal is ruthless or in the wrong. I would certainly deny the OP with his details. I mean if you do not know the guy, it would really be hard to accept that.

I mean there is really no way Party A can use Party B identity to claim that Party B identity would certify that Party A is who he claims he is.

As I do not know the guy, I would think that he stole someone's identity to verify his account. Lots of red flags here.

It is like this :-

Bank : What is your name ?

Mr A : My name is Mr A ?

Bank : Do you have an ID to proof that you are Mr A ?

Mr A : Yes, here is Ms Z ID, would that do ?

Bank : But it says here that this is Ms Z, didn't you tell me that your name is Mr A ?

Mr A : Yes My Name is Mr A and here is Ms Z ID to proof that I am Mr A.

Bank : No, You need your own ID or else how I know you did not stole this. Your name must match your ID. Sorry, we cannot deal with you.

 

I submitted both my documents and my friends document to paypal.

I submitted
2 photo ID each

- My photo ID (driver's license and NBI)
- My friend's ID (voter's ID and NBI)

which was accepted by paypal

For utility bill (proof of address)
I submitted my broadband internet bill and for my friend is their water bill but under her father's name because she is still dependent to her parents.

For CC statement and bank account I submitted under my friend's name.
CC statement is again under her father's name because she is just a supplementary card holder.

Isn't still enough?

 

No, I think you don't get it. The credit card needs to be in your name. There is no question about it. You can submit all the documents you want, it is not going to change that fact.

In the first place, you should know that you are not allowed to use someone's identity to proof that it is you.

 

Man! I hate to say this, but your name could stay on their 'Blacklist' for what seems like forever. IF this doesn't go through for you, I think you'll be in PP he11. Bummer.

OK.. so the only thing left to do is wait for 180 days?

 

you should try calling instead,, and harrass them about your account limitation.. do everything you can to get them to reopen the account

PayPal is a SCAM!

There soon to hit rock bottom when the new UK Laws about bank charges comes around on them, they call themselves a "Bank" nowadays and therfore for us UK Citizens we will be able to claim there not allowed to take fee's from our transactions (In or Out!). This was discussed on a television show earlier today i was watching.

They've recently froze around $1800 from our Business Account, Further to this they stopped all transactions within the past 30 Days (Over $7500 Worth) so we have been left with a debt of just shy of $10,000 and all of our vendors (For servers / licences / software & support teams) threw a bill and 7 days to pay us, for example NameCheap.com have charged us $50 for each of our last 7 transactions that were charged back.

There a scam upon calling them they say it relates to an account i personally held with them back in 2001, which is... (Wait for it....) $1.25 Overdrawn, i said no problem, Il pay it now... Answer: No you cant, lol! So i ask the indian guy who hardly spoke english (im not a racist or owt i just dont agree with non-fluent speakers working ENGLISH call centers) why not? and they repled you need to send a money order, And i said i can pay the ballance right now, i've got the cash in my business partners account... I'm sorry we cant do this, So we go further... And now paypal have decided to lock INCOMING transactions aswell (So we cant accept paypal anymore).

In a nut shell PayPal forced our company into a VERY VERY tight spot, We're suffering big time now, Luckily for us we had a backup plan but still... $10k Down... We had to dip right into our "Just Incase" funds.

If anybody wishes to join our fight against PayPal we ARE taking Legal Proceedings against them and we have a solicitor who has dealt with them on numerous occasions.

 

well PP are very cooperative with this.If still you have any issue just call them up for faster recovery.

 

Paypal arent cooperative with ANYTHING at all, and not only this they wont allow anyone to speak via the phone to anybody of "Authority"
