Check out how outrageous Chitika is. I was initiallly doing well with Chitika, then their series of problems started appearing ever since they started promoting thier Premium Ads 1. 2008-5-29 - "tracking problem" suddenly appears - Chitika was only counting 10% of my impressions and 50% of my revenue. 2. 2008-6-06 morning and afternoon - Chitika starts showing banner ads instead of eminimalls, and soon they start showing nothing just the empty space sayig "Chitika turn pageviews into profits" (yeah right) 3. 2008-6-06 midnight - Then later on I look at my report page and this is what I see, I have nearly 60, 000 impressions and 81 clicks with 4 dollars of revenue... They did fix their tracking problem, but in exchange they reduced their cost per click to 4 cents per click.....what the hell? What kind of dirty business is this? They also promote show CPM graphic ads that do not earn any money. I have 40k impressions on them and not a single cent earned.
Dude let me get in on this. ------ Alright, well my stats are very much identical to yours. Lately after they launched their little "Premium" it started off promising, my revenue had increased, then a week later, boom...they start having problems tracking my impressions, then it looks like it's fixed, boom...they start having problems with tracking clicks. Eventually my eCPC is pure trash compared to the clicks I give them daily. Now I don't know what is fixed and what needs to be fixed, I assume the whole thing is just a scam, I am in the process of dropping them and going back to Kontera(I hear they are better now). I hope CHITIKA is not going back to the old ways, if so we will have to start calling them CHEATIKA like we used to, sigh.
That's actually a good name for it lol. I already started removing their ads at my homepage. I'm going to slowly remove their other ads. I just hope they have the decency to pay the $200 they owe me.
Why don't we wait and see how/if they handle the problem before we start making nasty accusations. This has happened before and the stats for the previous days jumped up to what they were supposed to be. You may be freaking out over nothing.
If there is one thing I have learned in life. Its to not make decision based on emotions. I will give them a few more days, but if it becomes clear that they are completely incapable of being professional, it would be smart to leave.
Well, I just checked my stats for last night and I hit a record low in revenue generated. I am not surprised as this is how Chitika was a couple years back, they start out HOT to lure you in then they burn fast. I will wait a week and see if things change, or I might not, time is money, the whole "trial" period phase is out the window these days lol. Let's see what happens...
Yep, I checked my stats for yesterday and it was an all-time low. My CTR was only 0.06% and my CPC was only 4 cents, giving me a grand total of 58 cents for the day with my RPUs when not long ago, I was earning $15-20 a day. And of course, the message saying they're having reporting issues and will have it fixed within the next few days is still sitting nicely above my stats. What's it been, two weeks now? They have one week to get this resolved. Life's too short to sit around complaining and hoping things get better. If I don't see my normal earnings return by this time next week, I'm done with Chitika. The amount of time I spend searching this forum for explanations on why Chitika is performing badly again is worth a lot more than 58 cents.
My Chitika Linx revenue has tanked badly the last few days, for no apparent reason. I just went to the trouble of putting up Chitika Premium on all my blogs yesterday. I hope the stats correct soon, or it's back to Kontera. There is a note on our account report page, indicating a problem. So I will wait until the notice is gone and see what happens.
Guys check out their own forums - Chitika Sphere Forums. People over there are obviously not happy. The Chitika admins don't seem to have any straight forward answer to the problem. This makes me think, things might not get better.
yeah, you're right. On their forum, they obviously not happy. Many publisher do not like this new system. I think the old one is better.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's a simple matter of "the old one is better". If Chitika could have kept things the way they were, they would have. Late last year, Adsense made changes that resulted in most publishers (including me) losing 50% of their earnings overnight. The problem is that advertisers don't exist simply to pay publishers money, even though that seems to be how a lot of publishers think. For too long, many publishers have been doing whatever they can think of to get people to click on the ads on their site(s), without any regard for the advertisers, and now the advertisers are complaining, which means companies like Chitika have to make serious changes, just like Adsense did. If you read that last post by Ryan Travis on the Chitika forum (see link two posts above), it clearly states that advertisers have been unhappy with the number of clicks that have been converting into sales. This isn't some big mystery. If I was throwing money out the window, I'd be unhappy too. Obviously, Chitika isn't going to come out and admit to their publishers that the good old days are over, but they are over, and no amount of complaining about it is going to bring them back. If the new Premium ads don't work out (they're certainly not working well for me), then who knows, maybe Chitika will go out of business. Happens all the time. Life goes on.
I was once cheated by an affiliate program. I don't want to name the company. Cheating webmasters is the worst digital sin a company can commit in the Internet. They have no idea how hard it is to run a website.
Darn, I thought it was just me seeing less earnings with Chitika but now after seeing this thread I realize it's not just me :-(
With so many of Chitika's publishers having lost so much money over the past several weeks (which means Chitika has lost money), I think the question now is whether we'll be getting paid at the end of the month, or if Chitika is going to do what they've done in the past - reduce our earnings down to nothing and claim that all of our clicks were invalid.
man glad I am on this forum I just got approved by chitika guess no more future promotion with chitika thanks for the informations and thanks Digital point
I got paid promptly at the end of June for May revenue. However, I have replaced Chitika with Kontera due to the decrease in Chitika revenue. Kontera has been performing MUCH better for me.
