Best in the world? Of course not! You never watch MTV?????????????? MTV plays BEST music in the world, and most of the songs are from America and UK. For your information, as of May 1, 2008, the United Nations has 192 members. And I'm sure Bollywood can't be the best among those 192 nations.
I think good music cannot be limited to country or religion. you will find good and bad music everywhere.
Oh please.... give me a break. Most of the peppy tunes that Bollywood comes out with are copied from international albums. Hell, even the term Bollywood is copied from Hollywood, right? Hindi films songs are okay, but they're not even good. Forget about being the best in the world or something. The best music in the world will always belong to the Beethovens, Mozarts, and Indian Classical Musicians.

bollywood's music? man! they copy from songs from chinese, english and pakistani songs. Their languge is hindi, but they use language of their neighbouring country(urdu) to write lyrics. sorry! but no offense latest bollywood is not orignial in anyway. it was good some 30 years ago. but now i don't think so.
Bollywood gives many songs that are in hearts of many people all over the world. Still many people may not be lucky enough to feel the essence of Indian music.
