lul, it got three answers; 1. Egg (science!) 2. Chicken (f.ex: 'chicken' came before 'egg' in that sentence ) 3. Both at the same time (that egg is a chicken in a somewhat undeveloped way). It just depends on how you make up the question and what answer you're expecting.

Its called evolution... A bunch of cells over millions of years turned into something that we now call chicken and it lays eggs.

Well you can read all about Raising Chickens on my blog. The answer is the chicken came first because eggs are not always fertile so they would not have came first.
