    Hi

just now saw someone selling a domain yxxu.com (I am sure I made a mistake but it was a little weird like this one itself)

I want to know what is the actual use of such kinds of domains???

    LLLL.com is ok...4 letters...but any 4 letters??

    what is the use??

people have associated arbitrary value based on scarcity... not real demand. if everyone had as much common sense we wouldn't have seen such a bubble :D

well, barbie is on dot com, britney has an official site on .com , google too, so it may show that you have a professional site, not just another britney-wannabe-dancer .org or any other long name, but that has sense... even if your URL is i7gt.com

    no not in that case.

if you own a long name and it gets popular, you can get an abbreviated domain which can be used to redirect to the long domain.

Not much really. Just hold on & resell to another domainer or pray that you find an enduser company with those 4 letter abbreviations & wants your name.

I agree with this for sure. They can be used as acronyms for companies but zzxq.com is a stretch.

People like shorter name for example Digitalpoint.com is a bit long though I have
forums.digitalpoint.com bookmarked or becoz to familiar with the name so its no problem.:p
However you can just use dpf.tl.my as a shortcut to enter Digital Point Forum.
See, sometimes people prefer shorter domains to enable them access to website easier. Cheers..
p/s- I'm not kidding you can enter Digitalpoint Forum directly from http://dpf.tl.my - Try it..
