    http://www.superiorinvestor.net/

to make it more confusing, this is an old site that has a PR0!!!

the results under and around it all have at least pr 3 or 4 but this one is showing up the most!!! doesnt google use pr and serps in kind of the same ways. why the heck is this site on the top 3 on like every search?! someone please help!

They have got over 50,000 backlinks, Yahoo Directory listing etc. Check their footer, covered in text links so my guess is they got nailed for selling links and their PR removed.

May still depends on what keyword you typed in.

why if they have so many backlinks are they pr0? isnt the main factor of pr # of quality backlinks? even if they dont have the best pr you think they would have atleast pr1!!!! and they are obviously not banned or punished from google if they are showing up first everywhere!

What are the keywords, are they competitive enough and gain high traffic. SERP's don't care about PR, as long as it really rank well depends on SERP algorithm.

As i said, they probably got a Pagerank penalty for link selling. It's happened to thousands of sites, typically SERP's don't change just the PR gets removed or lowered a few points.

You realize that the Google Tool Bar PR is about two months old, right?

Google knows the actual PR, but only exports it to the TB every 5 or 6 months.

You are using the PR of two months ago to analyze today's SERPs. Would
you use stock quotes from two months ago to invest today?

The site in question could have an actual PR of 2 and the other's could be
    lower than what you see.

Plus, although PR is important, it is *not* the #1 ranking factor.

The #1 factor that determines ranking in the SERPs is relevance to the search query.

The site that you are questioning is relevant enough to rank where it is.
(probably a shit load of those 50,000 backlinks have those keywords anchored).

Also, sweetfunny had a plausible answer.

First off, you're hardly my competition. Secondly, PR is a bunch of crap, as has been stated many times before.

If you can't figure out the difference between Superior Investor and your forum, you probably never will. Now would you stop obsessing about my website and work on your own already?

I've worked very hard to get into first place for thousands of keywords in the financial market. You'll need to work a lot harder than you have so far to do the same.

Oh yeah, before I forget. For all the suckers who believe in PageRank and "authority sites", check this out.

PR0 my big hairy ass :)

I am not sure how long your site has been up and running, but.. I think you must be doing something wrong if you don't rank for your domain name.

The first result is about selling posts. Google penalty perhaps?

PR is just one of the hundred factors that Google use in ranking search result.

PR degraded because of many things but it doesn't affect his SERPs.

IMO PR is no way related to SERP's
Build rich and unique content and ur SERP factor will automatically increase

I have seen many sites with low PR dominating high PR sites. Many times, new sites or new pages with no PR are ranked on the top, this is because Google give new content boost to new sites. But in your case, the site is old; then I guess what "sweetfunny" has said is true.
