You might not have captcha enabled that is mostly understandable by human, or very high-end applications. Secondly, what kind of forum software you are using ? regards
I notice this being a problem on a forum I haev to switch to a new server as well. I don't think CAPTCHA is enabled but the site is running on vBulletin. Are there any built in features to help stop this?
Once I heard that some version of vBulletin has few exploit and few people misused many sites at that time. I really do not remember the exact version what was it, but there was one version, try googling and you get answers. As far my knowledge I never used vB on any of my sites, I own licenses of ipb (more hacked board) . Why? becuase I am not in position to pay someone to convert my more than 36 sites to phpbb . You might also ban ip addresses using wildcard, becuase the spammers are too mart now, they use software to do this shit, they dont do it manually. And a server doing this thing must have an ip. The posts that are spam, check their ip address. Suppose ip was 123.234.333.123, then replace the last part with * so that it becomes 123.234.333.* and add it to banlist, then check results for few days, and keep bocking different ips, I hope you get rid of them. Secondly more important things is, if you own vBulletin, why not go for support, as vB staff to provide you assistance. regards
