Any idea on how to post an ad that does not look like spammy on craigslist?

How do do if we are promoting a site (not a product)?

    Thanks

Find a relevant section and post there for starters. If you want to make your ads not look spammy, avoid using any kind of random text/number in the title to make it unique. Doing this makes the ad unique but it screams spam. Next I'd make sure that the body of the ad looks professional. If it is a text only ad, make sure its formatted nicely and there are no obvious grammatical errors. If it is an image ad, make it look nice. If you can't use photoshop then get someone else to whip you up a professiona looking banner etc.

Thanks creztor.. I has an ad before sending traffic to my site at around 100 daily from craigslist alone but someone who was jealous posted the same ad in the same category so craigslist deleted both of our ads..:(

What kind of product/services generally? It really depends on what category you're posting in.

Try to make your ad look as much like a casual post by a user as possible. Make it longer than just 2 sentences and informative. Don't over-post; 1 a day is plenty in busy markets (SF, LA, NY), 1 a week in less busy markets (Portland, etc).

narsticle gives good advice. Go find someone else that is posting heaps of ads and copy what they are doing.

I totally agree with this. I tried this myself and my ads really up on the list.

I heard that we cannot put affiliate link on the ads. So I think it will be fine if we buy a new domain and do the redirection. So far I can put a link on the image that I put inside my ads tough.

Great to hear silveraden. Good to see that at least for yourself you are getting traffic from Craigslist.

too bad. I heard that they banned the user IP eventhough you sign in for different users. I read it somewhere, I just can't remember. ??

Silveraden, I have been posting on CL for a couple of years, and the best method
is a combo of text and the use of photobucket. I hardly ever get ghosted, flagged
or removed. But I can tell you this, when you are removed , it's always a competitor!!
