How do I create indexes for specific folders?

I have disabled site wide indexing by including "Options -Indexes" in the .htaccess file.

Now I'd like to be able to show the index for a few specific folders. How do I achieve that? It would be OK if you suggest some other free software for this purpose as well. Something built-in within Apache would be even better. :)

    Thanks!

You can specify the reverse in the subfolder you want to be indexed:

    Options +Indexes

Thanks for your reply. So I need to include this in the .htaccess of the respective folder? Am I right? But that will make that .htaccess file visible as well. Any way to prevent that?

I believe not since .htaccess is an hidden file. The dot in front makes it hidden.
