Business category and shopping category. Merge or don't merge.

I am considering merging the two categories in my directory.
What are you oppinion on this? Personally I feel that both categories are basicly the same..
What about you do you feel that the 2 categories are distinct enought to warrant 2 different categories.

I'm in the process of restructuring my directory. Eliminating the useless categories and streamlining the existing one.. Any advice on category layout will also be appreciated

 

Those are two categories that I don't think would merge well.

 

My suggestion to you would be to symbolically link to shopping from within your business category.

Dont merge it into one because both category are different.

 

can anyone tell me the different. Cause i sort can't tell. The only different I see so far is that Business category are oriented towards B2B kind of listing but most directories already have a B2B section. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Do not merge the categories. Business is not equal to Shopping.

There are so may companies that do not sell directly from their sites, bur they make successful business.

 

I wouldn't merge those two in mine, the categories are hugely different.

I dont think it is a good idea! I would keep both seperate.

 

goto admin -> categories -> new symbolic link

select main category you are symbolically linking
name category name to be links to new.

make sure your status is set to active

save
