Ezine Articles and affiliate links

Ok, so I submitted my first article a couple of days ago and it's still pending. I put a link to my squidoo page in the article but now I am not sure if that was against the terms of service. I heard that I can only put a link to my squidoo page in my "bio box". Is that correct, or am I allowed to use the squidoo link in the actual article? Afterall, it's not an affiliate link is it?

    Any help appreciated!

I don't think put external links in your lens against the terms of service.

Brett, it really depends on where you submitted the article. I've seen it go either way, some allow a link with the article, some only allow it in the bio box.

The good thing is that you submitted an article. My suggestion would be to submit it to as many directories as you can. There are automated tools to do this, in fact there are services that will submit them for you.

Here are a few big article directories I would submit to if you only submitted to a few. This is by no means comprehensive

    EzineArticles
    goarticles
    buzzle
    ideamarketers
    articledashboard

I would really recommend that you invest a little $$ and get article submission software or subscribe to an article submission service.

Let me know if you need one.

    Thanks for the replies!

Sorry, I should've said that I submitted my article to ezinearticles.com. That's the article that I put my squidoo link in. I can't seem to find a definative answer to the question anywhere!

Just a bit on my background, I've been using PPC for a little while now and have found a really great niche and used the squidoo page as a landing page. I'm having pretty good conversions so now I would like to drive as much traffic as I can to it. That's why I have gone back to article marketing but I have forgotten what I learned earlier.

So yeah, is it possible to put a link to my Squidoo page in the body of my Ezine Article?

Kurt, do I need to submit my article to directories? I thought with Ezine Articles I could just submit and forget about it?

I don't think you can do this. I test this before and put a link back to my site. Then my article was being hold and they asked me to modify it. After I remove the link, my article was accepted. So we only can put links on our resource box.

As I know we can put 3 links there. So I think it is more than enough...

You can put link in the end of the article, they recommend that.

With regards to ezinearticles.com you are not allowed to put a link in the body of the article. You can only do that at the bio resouce section. With what you have just done, I don't think they will penalize you but you may be asked to modify it before it can be accepted.

I would write half of your source box as the ending of your article and include a link, and the other half place your actual "box" info with another link. This way, both links remain in the resource box, but once published, it will appear that there is a link at the end of the article, and in the resource box.

Just a little tip that can help you squeeze some extra links in there :)
