Hi - my undeveloped site which has a front page that says under construction gained a PR1. How did a site that is doing nothing and had no SEO done to it get a PR1?

I bought the undeveloped domain 4 months ago.

    Whats the URL?
Most likley reason it got PR1 is that someone linked to it.

I'd ignore the above statement

Well, when you bought this domain I'm assuming it was off someone who already registered it. Most likely some backlinks exist to the domain homepage already, this is why it's a PR1 and all the other web pages are PR N\A. Remember, backlinks are the only way Pagerank is increased, if their is Pagerank there are backlinks :)

PR 1 is nothing to be proud of... I feel like you'd have to try really hard to get a PR that low.

...read what he said. He wasn't bragging. He was wondering how a blank page not promoted/linked to got a PR1. And that's a legit question.

"Others" are just wrong then. Seriously, that is one of the least accurate things I've read in a long, long time.

I think one of the reason is that domain is getting link from anywhere may be it is getting link form it's own hosting site, can you put your domain here ?

Maybe your links have some backlinks from anywhere. I have one site which only one page (homepage) and after 8 months I get PR2.

I think that's a fake pr. If that is a real pr, soon will lost it. You said you did nothing to your site, so definitely your site also gained nothing.
