I just realized how easy it is to get scammed off of paypal!

Paypal does not have a buyer protection, or file dispute against digital services.

So someone can scam you and get away with it...?

If this happened to you how would you solve this....

You won't even know the sellers address

and yes I am being scammed right now of a web design service

That's not true, they have a selective dispute is a better way of putting it. When I used to sell scripts online 7 people disbuted me as a scam and paypal awarded them their money back all 7 of them. Those were digital goods. Back in the day though I bought a website for 4k (this was before I knew about escrow) well the guy filed a dispute and when I told them about it they said they can't protect digital goods. So I think paypal is just out to get me.

Well but they have managed service for goods not for digital goods. But paypal always did a bad thing , anything happened , just a sneezing and your account got limited , now ait like hell after uploading your docs. I really dont like this waiting time.

If you will buy digital stuffs online the best way is to use a Credit Card to be sure.
Maybe you bought from someone thru IM or chat.

always u need to have a proof of what u sold else u can be easily scammed by chargebacks by scammer customers.

To buy digital goods is no problem with PayPal because only the SELLER isn´t protected against chargebacks. As a buyer of digital products you mostly win the dispute if you don´t recieve what you paid for

PayPal has more buyer protection then sellers protection. The seller ALWAYS has to provide tracking details. But if you sell digital products by PayPal and anyone will fill a dispute you will loose most of the time

I've offered 'digital services' and had 'chargebacks'. It seemed the buyer said the credit card was stolen?

That's why I would only pay for expensive things through paypal on trusted sites. If its just a hundred dollars its not a huge deal, but still, I can see why you'd be upset.

Definitely go through an Escrow service whenever you're uncertain about the buyer/seller.
