building backlinks to get your site indexed

I've started building backlinks to my site (www.schmoozii.com) but I'm still not getting google to index the site. Let me explain what I'm doing and I appreciate if someone can tell me if this is the proper strategy.

I go to a blog or forum, make a comment related to the post, and wait for it to get indexed. I also posted a few articles on ezines and a distro service. When I do a google search, there are 41 unique results 9 (305 if you repeat the search with omitted results). Some of the sites where I have left links are very big like Linkedin, Techcrunch, CNET.

I also put a XML sitemap (google sees 214 URLs only 10 indexed) and a robots.txt on Google webmaster tools. There is new content everyday. Google gets the sitemap everyday, but it says the site hasn't been indexed since June 4th (which was the first week we put it online).

Only thing I can think of is that we have yet to put in the meta data on the landing page, which is going to be done today. But would that stop google from indexing? Any suggestions to get indexed?

Just add your site to digg.com, it may help you.

Get your link placed on a high traffic site. Or a high pr site.

Also, submitting to Digg, stumbleupon, and others will help you get indexed really quick. Although I've found Digg and stumbleupon to be a poor traffic source, it's still traffic.

Just throwing an idea, is it possivle that because www.schmoozii.com is redirecting to http://www.schmoozii.com/Publish/User/signin.php it could prevent proper indexing.

After looking carefully, I believe I know why. all the content of your site is only accessible by registered user. Googlebot does not register to any site to find content.

    If you look at http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=site:http://www.schmoozii.com&meta=

all you see are user login and registration page.

The two other links are blog and articles, which are blank and an orange banner flashes to tell you that you need to register to see the content.

As for other suggestion , to submit to digg or others, are worthless if your content is not crawlable by the googlebot.

Try to focus only on getting those links.

Camay123, I'm not sure that's the answer, because permalink pages do display text, but he listing pages do not. Here is an example schmoozii.com/Publish/User/Articles/article_main.php?mode=comment&articleId=8
You don't need a password to see this page.

as for schmoozii.com redirecting to the other page, this may be a problem. but I have a sitemap on google webmaster tools and they can see 214 URLs on the sitemap without any errors. Do you think could still be an issue? Does anyone else want to comment on the redirect issue? I don't even know if that can be fixed.

Darkness, I've submitted a xml sitemap to google webmaster already. They have it verified.

Marc Perez, the URLs are open on the backside. Please see the link in my previous post.

Webmaster tools is saying this "Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Jun 4, 2008." but everyday they are checking my robots.txt (which doesn't block them from any pages except the admin panel, users control panel, and profiles). there are no errors. They also grab the sitemap everyday and see there are more URLs, but they aren't indexing.

I have been checking your site and see 18 results. If your site have rich content, let's wait and Google will index.

    Note: make your URLs friendly!

Thank you all for the advice so far. Ok, I think I have a break through. Here's an update.

I've submitted a 3 blog post to Digg as several have advised in this thread. Google grabbed these post and indexed them almost immediately, but they didn't index any other pages. On Google webmaster tools it says "Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Jun 4, 2008." So it is capable of indexing pages behind the homepage, but it isn't going to the homepage. I'm think this has something to do with the robots.txt. It grabs the robots.txt every day and there are no errors. Can someone please check if I set up robots.txt correctly at schmoozii.com/robots.txt
