I was just curious have you guys experienced much with GoDaddy and there transaction times for registrars? I heard they was pretty quick at getting things done?

Are you transferring to another account on GoDaddy, transferring from GoDaddy, or transferring to GoDaddy?

If it's either of the last two, it also depends on the registrar you're transferring to or from.

In my own experiences the fastest transfer from elsewhere to GoDaddy has taken 24 hrs.

In the worst case scenario, up to 5 days ;)

So you say it's only taken you ~around 24 hours for a complete approval and transfer?

Well, I started the transfer at GoDaddy, they sent the authorization email to my previous registrar, I accepted and 24 hours later my domain was transferred from the older to my GoDaddy's account.

Confirmation email arrived within an hour after placing the transfer request.

The last time I transferred to GoDaddy it took a total of 48 hours. But it was the other regitrar's lag. GoDaddy sent the authorization email to the other registrar, but it didn't show up there until the next day.

But I've transferred from a number of other registrars to GoDaddy and the least amount of time I've waited was 12 hours. I'd tell you which that was from, but I honestly don't remember.

This is the standard process you will face through any registrar service:

    • You start the transfer from the new registrar site, in this case GoDaddy.
    • They sent an email to your old registrar and they will turn to you with an email sent to whoever is listed as constact in your whois data, usually yourself.
    • You follow a confirmation link to accept and decline the transfer
The rest is up to the registrar and takes up to 7 days unless a problem arise, such as newly registered domains (less than 60 days), wrong authorization codes or if you miss to unlock your domain before the transfer.

In my case, that 24-hours transfer occured with a dot.COM name, and others extensions have taken ups to 5 days at GoDaddy.
