I'm learning that website marketing is not a part time job. I have 5 sites and am considering a 6th. I was just wondering how much time people devote, on a daily basis, to marketing their sites.
To tell you the truth, i never did a marketing campaign to any of my sites... still, i rank #1 for a major keyword in G with one of them... funny thing hah? Anyway, the guys who promote heavily their sites, boy, they spend a lot of time doing that, maybe 1-2 hours day minimun... maybe more... its a though job, social media, foruns, blogs etc
agreed. I sneak in as much as I can during my full time job, and continue until 11pm every weeknight.
I made a mistake and exploded the number of sites I have to 18+. Now I am scaling back trying to maintain the sites I think worth maintaining. You are correct, website promotion is not a part time job. It requires dedication and lots of time to do properly.
I am spending quite a lot of time as I have recently finished on my main website (one in which I promote everything from). There are literally so many ways to market that you have to have a realistic strategy and adjust regularly.
Other than the PPC programs I have not done any marketing I wanted to get my sites up and running and tweak them first I plan on marketing them this year
Its a full time job (if you expect to make a full time salary). I probably work about 12-15 hours a day
I agree. If you are looking for full time salary, you need to work probably more than a full time job, at least in the beginning. Me, I am just doing it to learn and have fun So, about 1 hour a day.
I've tried to cut down my work because it was really getting to me making sure I was fully confident with the sites I had online to earn me money. I do a lot of other work and school work was really affected so I had to slow down. I'm starting to pick it up to around 4-5 hours a day now on the sites and that includes writing a few articles and promoting the sites and adding more content. A few works of advice would be, definitely don't over work yourself as you'll not be able to work your best. If you're tired, don't work because you'll feel down and feel more pressures. It's the work thing you can do. Best of luck, Carl
