The adsense video units have been up long enough for us to get an idea of whether they are worth fooling with or not. From my personal experience on a few sites, they are a complete waste. The ctr on them has been less than half the ctr of other ads, and the earnings per click has been less than half of the content clicks as well. In my opinion, these video ads are a no go. How about you? Any video unit success stories you can share? Failures? Unsures? Think they work better on certain types of sites/ niches?
I've had it on my site for 2 days and so far a grand total of 0 clicks (5000 uniques a day). I wouldn't mind this too much, as I'm happy to offer my surfers different video upon each refresh, but few hours ago it stopped working and had a message "We're sorry, no videos were found" displayed. I'll give it a couple more hours, then I'm removing it. So far it's been pretty useless for me.
Thanks for the report Muncle. Ouch... I'm not a fan of error messages like that on a site. I've seen the same message before myself. Not good. I don't mind giving visitors something to look at either. But I don't want to give up too much space for nothing either. Somebody must be making some money with this. Right?
