I sad that some low life will go to any lenths to scam a domain name knowing he'll get caught in the end. I hope this never happends to me and I wish the seller the best of luck in getting his domain back.

Shame there is not some sort of holding period put in place "say 30 days" and if something goes wrong you inform who ever, provide the proofs and the domain gets transfered back.

    Save all the hassle.

    Regards.

    PS,

Say a middle man company whom the seller transfers the domain to, they hold it for 30 days but the new buyer can use it but not sell it etc and if all goes swell the holding company releases it. If all hell breaks lose they just transferes it back.

Some registrars actually do operate that way. 15-30 days redemption period...and they will get involved to help you claim the domain that was wrongfully taken from you.

Unfortunately (for those in a situation similar to OP's),
Godaddy is not one of them.

For digital product / service paypal don't help much. Some one had dispute case for my service that already been submitted 2 months ago and the payment already reserved to buyer back even i already show the prove of project delivery. So, please beware on this especially when it come to a big amount of deal. I wish you successful get back your domain dude.

Just found out that my domain is parked at sedo.com and is for sale....here is the link
    http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=l7o.com&partnerid=14456&language=e

I have written a letter to sedo about this and have added this info for anyone who might buy it. If my offline attempts to get this domain back are successful, anyone who owns it will have it taken away from them. So please beware of buying this ( or any ) domain...Look into it's history. I would hate to see any domain taken away from an honest person. Cheers, Mark

    Mark,
Its quite sad that once you loose a domain, its very hard getting it back unless you have a trademark or registered company name etc for that domain. You can acquire that on intellectual property rights ground. When you have done the transfer, you agreed on all the clauses therein which holds true for the buyer. He took advantage of using Paypal but that is not a very strong support to prove that he actually stole. You know, we know but the people who might get it back to you they wont.

And for these kind of transactions 2CO is way better than Paypal. 2CO even accepts Paypal. Just be a bit more cautious from the next time.

That is a really stupid suggestion, I hope you take offense to that because you should.

Hacking a domain? I know by your name, you probably think hacking will work, but let's get real, hacking a domain? That means either targeting the individual, whom is a scammer so they constantly change identities and know all the tricks because they practice them, or hacking the registar.

Well any of that happen? Maybe hacking the individual(very low chance), but certainly not the registar.

EDIT: Also, the "hacker" will charge a hefty fee to hack the domain, which probably won't be worth it.
