Is there away to remove your site from Google in India or block access to your site from India without effecting your SERP anywhere else.
First of all why do you want to remove your site from Google India.... even if you remove your site from Google India you may get hits from India as we always search through google.com.... and not google.co.in...
you may do better by IP blocking , in other words block certain country specific IPs via various means.
I agree with sleuth1! It is much better for you just do block IP those you do not want to come on your website. It is much better either to block your website in google.co.in or google.com in india.
If you get hits from Google.co.in . you won't have any trouble, but if you are targeting ur website to have more preference in other local se lets say, google.co.uk rather than google.co.in than, you can go ahead with Google webmaster tools and set your targeted geo location.
It will b very interesting to know the reason u want to remove ur site from google india search. Anyways its upto u to share. try blocking ip ranges for major isp's in india . For bsnl broadband is starts as 59.**** and 117.***. Check out other isp s also.
Care to explain how can we do this..? Even i want to block the whole country(not india ) for one of my proxy site.. The problem is there are 1000's of IP range for one country @Op:Google webmasters geo target is ur choice
Only assumption but one of the rational reasons is that some affiliate/advertise comapny force it on him/her.
I understand the geo targeting tool of Google, but I just wanted to know how will we block every single IP in a country. I mean is it actually possible :O
Hello! But why do you want to block India ?. What is the reason ?. I am curious to know. regards sat.
Why not display a diiferent page to the users from India? for example "Sorry this site is not available in your region". This can easily be achieved with "iptocountry" http://www.phptutorial.info/iptocountry/ If you are trying to block specific people using your site they will always find a way around it by using ip cloaking.
