VBulletin SEO-Friendly URLs

Discussion in 'vBulletin' started by Voasi, Aug 15, 2005.

I'm trying to find a guide to making Vbulletin have SEO friendly URLs. Particularly, I'd like to pull the Title of posts into the URLs, with - as spaces.

I've been following http://forum.time2dine.co.nz/seo-vbulletin/search-engine-optimize-vbulletin-98.html . He actually uses it on that forum, but doesn't tell me how to make posts Titles as the URLs.

If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate another source or guidance.

    Thanks! :D

It doesn't help in the SERPs, in my experience. The only thing that it will do is allow the Google toolbar to show PageRank which may help you in some of the link exchange schemes.

There are two free mods available at vbulletin.org namely vrewrite and zoints seo that do exactly what you're trying to achieve.

The need to rewrite vB url's to help with SEO is a myth (this thread was started 3yrs ago - it may have been different then).

According to vBSEO, the world's most popular VBulletin site got to that position because of SEO URLs.

    4 year old thread. Wow.
Most forums use it, :) If you have low content/members vBSEO is recommended.
Or there is a free one called C-LOgic SEO on vB.org i ilke it :)
