Dear All, Me and a work colleague are at the minute launching a car website / forum this site is about cars from the early 1960's - late 1990's/2000's we plan to make this website & forum work so we can do it full time. What would be the best way to market this site and keep members on the forum. The site will have a review section and we do plan to go to all the UK car shows and get a stand on each one aswell to get exposure, How many active members would we need to make a living from the forum? We plan in the near future to take the website and turn it into a magazine aswell. here is the link to the forum of which i have set up although i am going to vB at the end of the month. Hope you can help Regards UKmember
A good way to launch a site like this is to coincide it with the launch of a high-profile car. Example: as a car guy, I'm sure you are well aware of the new Nissan GT-R. Years ago, as soon as rumors about this car started floating around, the smart guys were busy creating forums to discuss it - the GT-R forums that were first to be set up were the ones that got the most traffic (for the most part). Anyway, promoting it can be done many ways depending on your niche: attend and advertise at car clubs EVERYWHERE, perhaps sponsor a race car somewhere, word of mouth, buy advertising space on other high-traffic auto sites, etc.
Thank you, I do intend to sponsor races ect but as soon as the site is fully up and running i will attending shows like Retro Cars, Classic Car shows even the Motor show, hopefully one day we may get some great members in the USA who also likes going to car shows can become apart of the team, we give our team Retro Wheels T-Shirts and what we want them to do is when at the USA car shows is pass flyers around and interview drivers and take photos of there cars to publish on the site, This will be hard to do which i am aware so at the moment i can only concentrate on the UK country. -UKmember
