you really can't get paid for work well here. search around, look for other websites to sell your services at.

Probally the place where you going to sell your services for the higest price is your own website, but to do this you would need to get your website high up in google which would be a challange.

There are a few other forums out there like digital point, but most have the same people at the same prices, just seach google and you will find some.

Yup DP is very competitive and is based on Wholesale prices, but if you offer a decent service then you can ask for more, just offer a better service, get reviews, offer good customer support, trust me you will build up loyal clients and then they in turn will refer friends to you.

You do not need to compete on prices alone in DP. Try competing in quality, if members know you as someone who provide high quality, I am sure they will not mind paying higher prices than the unknowns offering the same services at far cheaper prices. Try to build a reputation of excellence around you. This will certainly help you when you offer your services in DP.

I'm sure there's tons of web design related forums out there.
And yea, try Adwords. It drives very targeted traffic and potential buyers.

Adwords to drive traffic for web services such as web design, hosting etc are very expensive. I doubt the ROI will be great. Try to do a great job for any and all your clients, WOM Word of Mouth promotion will be far far more effective than Adwords.

I am looking to do some voice over or audio work. I figure there is a market for people who want an audio version of their ebooks and don't want to do it. Any suggestions on where the best place to look for work is?
    Thanks,
    Adam

I'm an SEO consultant as well and have to agree, when you can buy someones time for a few dollars an hour there's no chance of selling a quality service at a premium price here, like another poster said it's like wholesale prices here, I'd say India wholesale prices, so I've not even tried (will be a waste of time).

I haven't even linked to any of my SEO service pages in my sig, closest is a free SEO tutorial since I know the people reading DP won't pay my prices. Which is fine since I'm using the forum to inspire new ideas, was getting a little stagnant on what to do next in my spare time :) not make money directly through DP users.

Oh my, just looked at your services pages and thought I was going to see relatively high prices, but unless your services are all automated the prices are cheap. I charge £500 a month retainer fee for SEO consulting and currently not taking on new clients due to not wanting to take on too many clients.

LOL I wouldn't stand a chance selling services here, but then the people I tend to work with don't frequent forums :)

I don't think DP is a place to seriously market your service because many members here are very cheap. You might find some good customers, but not too many.
I don't offer any services, but I notice this after viewing many threads where some members wanted a good service for pennies. lol

I find it quite disturbing people will sell their time for so little in return!

I've been selling WordPress themes for about 6 or 7 months that have been SEO'd and AdSense added, they are by far the best in the market today and I only charge between £10 and £20 each which is a bargain compared to what I'd charge to SEO someones theme.

I create the themes in my spare time and use them on my own sites so it's not what I'd consider a real business (something I've made for my use and have turned into a product which is why they are cheap compared to what I usually charge) and only sell a couple of themes a day (so not a great deal of money in it).

I was going to try to sell them through DP, 10-20 quid for a full SEO'd theme is a bargain, but then I see people selling original WordPress themes with associated PSD files for like $20 with master resale rights! So after one try I've realised this is not the place to sell anything of value (even what I'd consider cheap).
