Haha, yeah they do, I really think its repulsive I bet there boyfriends look like twigs next to them (assuming any man is actually attracted to them)
for when i used to lift.. Favorite: bent rowssss! not long ago i was doing 135 x 8 and weighed like 160. Worst: bench. just too much stress on my bones it feels and hype about it, fun, but grueling.
I would like to buy a set of 12 lb dumbbells, but I found that I cannot buy them locally. (One of the disadvantages of SmallTown, USA ) I've looked around a bit online, but can anyone recommend a good website to buy them from where I am not going to get slammed with shipping charges??
Better yet, how about buying one of the 'choose your weight' systems? At Target you can get one under the Reebok name. http://www.target.com/Stamina-Versa...332?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k:dumbbell&page=1 This is similar at the actual store though they have a similar set much cheaper. I think like $50
I said like those, not those exact ones. the all in ones are nice as they take up less room and give you more variety than a single weight that takes up the same amount of space.
Try looking in the paper for yardsales. A little paint can make them look new again. I have 3 to 4 thousands pounds of free weights and dumb-bells that I keep outside that were bought at yard sales over the years. I usually pay no more than $25.00 for a complete set of dumbbells or weight set. Try junk shops, pawn shops, salvation army and goodwills also.
So im in lebanon now, forget my belt in the uae...Its becoming a pain for me in "deadlifting" because of the back pains, the annoying thing is that im only lifting half the weights I used to lift before. Has this happened to anyone before ?? I never experienced this when I used a belt, I obviously know its because of lack of support but i dont think that its suppposed to be such a pain.
Well if you've used a belt for dead lifting you never let your core/supporting muscles develop. It's not uncommon for supporting muscles to inhibit someone to a fraction of their normal weight when you take the supporters out of the equation in your normal lifting pattern than bam go to a lifting method that requires them. Similar to a squat on a smith compared to that on free weights. Personally I don't see a point in dead lifting with a belt, supporting the area you are trying to build in such a way just appears to be doing nothing more than looking good and not truly developing your lower back. Try building up your core slowly, don't rush it chancing hurting yourself and damaging your lower back.
I see your point, do you think I should rest my lower back for a couple of days and then start with lighter weights ?
If your back is actually hurting, yes rest it until it feels better. Start out with light weights, proper form. Possibly look into other movements to do as well, dumb bell good mornings, roman chairs, rack pulls, etc.
