I also noticed that there really isn't a lot of customization of the ads. This is bad for me because I'd like the ads to "blend" in with the background like I have for my current bidvertiser ads.

    Also, I asked before, I'm going to need a 120 x 600 ad space.

I understand you are in beta stage so I expect things to be "off" but that's why we are here, right? To provide you with feedback on our needs and wishes.

I wish you luck with your program. I want to see it succeed.

Actually, I just went over to adster and am going to take that route. TAM needs more time to build a publisher network and there are no incentives for me to be part of that scaffolding.

I'll check it out again at some point in the future.

Thanks netsavy. I have not forgotten your 120x600 request. The network has been strained excessively this week with all the new sign ups. I had to take a week off to optimize my code and server.....worst week of my life.

But, everything should be running smoother now and load times should be drastically lower. I've begun prep work on the ads so publishers can choose their own colors. I just have one major roadblock. What if a user chooses the text, background, and border colors all the same so the ad effectively disappears? Not entirely sure how to code to prevent this. I'll need to do more research before I release the color customization.

I have updated the banner styles. Mostly so they run faster (all CSS based now, no images).

I probably will create some sort of forum eventually. phpBB has been good to me in the past, but I'll most likely want to tie it into my current users database.

Some of you have mentioned that there is a lack of both publishers and advertisers. This has been the hardest part of creating a new advertising network. Most want to wait until the site is busier, but I am very very grateful to my advertisers and publisher who stick with me through the early "slow" stages. I promise you, I am working very rapidly to recruit new users, fix errors, and add new features. I absolutely love working on this site, and will always be improving it for my users.

Okay, 120x600 format is available. http://www.textadmarket.com/samples.php

I've just been adding new sizes as they are requested. Are there any other major ad sizes that I should be offering?

I use TextAdMarket for 4-5 days now but no Advertisers yet... However my site turns up #4 position in "Buying ads" list.... Any Idea what I do wrong?

I'm curious TextAdMarket, how do you get money for hosting the type of ads you show? Does a portion of the money sold on ads go to you?

Yes, 80% goes to publishers and 20% goes to my company as a commission. However, after paypal fees and such, it is much less than 20%. (closer to 0% with all the coupons I've been giving out) I thought I could pull this company off with charging only a 20% commission, but it is harder than I originally thought. Most ad networks charge 25% - 40%, and I can see why. I don't have enough $$ to pay for hosting or marketing the site, so I have been funding the company from my own pocket. I enjoy working on the site whether it is profitable or not, so I'll keep the project alive financially, and hopefully it starts churrning enough of a profit to move into a bigger server.

You should put some google ads on your site if money is a really big deal. There are always good places they can be put and not be in the way of your visitors.

I have a handful of paying advertisers already, I think 7 by my last count? Each prepaid for at least the $20 minimum of ad credit, some opt-ed for more. If anyone is looking to join as an advertiser, I am giving out coupons for an extra 10%. (not much, but its the most I can give out right now)

Great news! I finally learned a thing or two about HEX colors. I have a script put together that allows publishers to choose their own banner colors (background, and border). The script will allow you to choose all the same colors, but the text will not disappear. It will scale the brightness and contrast accordingly so the words will always be readable and clear. I will be releasing this color picker within the next 2 days.

That is odd. I'm completely redoing the color system tonight, anyway, so that problem will disappear. You'll soon be able to choose which color you want for the border, background, and all 3 text lines.

I hammered out all the javascript last night, now I just need to install it on the website. Should be a fun night for me.
