Why does Google think my blog is Spanish?

I just bought a blog about 3 weeks ago. It gets a lot of the traffic from foreign Google searches, and I'm having a hard time getting it to show on Google.com.

The domain was pushed to my namecheap account. I assume the blog was either hosted on a foreign IP or has a lot of foreign links. Now it is hosted on Godaddy and I've been getting links from English speaking countries including the US.

I just put adsense on it today and realized some of the ads are in Spanish.

Can you guys tell me if and when Google will realize this is an English/US based website?

Due to all the back links and the fact it was a Spanish website, google still thinks it is?

Haha, the title nearly killed me. :D

I did a quick overview of the backlinks, and it appeared free of any Spanish (at least the majority). The IP could of been doing it. Also don't forget the word "Vista" is Spanish, that could be the main culprit. :)

What makes you think it was a Spanish website?

Hey, I never thought of that. Well most of the traffic is coming from all over Europe, not Spain really.

    1.
    vista = spanish word !!

    2.
it may help if you add a language meta tag
as far as I can see you have NO language declared hence any SE needs to guess based on keywords found

There are many business names and cities in Spain with the word "Vista"
Search in google "Vista Spain" and you will see. I suggest you are getting type in traffic too.

    -Cancun Vista Spain
    -Vista Blanes
    -Gran Vista

    strange.

i would insert the lang="en" into the header and set the geo targeting in webmaster tools to where you want it. that will likely sort it.

You should change your domain name from "wvistathemes.com" to "emailmeandiwilltellyouwhatmywebsiteaddressis.com" LOL
