i have a new directory directory2site.com - and i would like to know if and when it will start showing a PR, i see that many directory owners here are posting there PR, does that really matter? and how do you know if its legit?
I cant remember when the last pr update was but the next one will maybe be in a month or two. PR does matter to the people that pay, ive had an individual make it clear i could of got more biz from him had there been pr in my dir, kind of disappointed me, not that person but the fact there was no pr there. So i think it matters if it matters to the people wanting to pay for a listing in your directory.
http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html It is always estimated, but a month sounds about right.
You may want to check in the google area of this forum. There are new threads started there every day that predict when the next update will be
traffic and serp are more important than pr solely, but most cases you will not get a good serp without the green bar.
Nobody knows IF it will show PR, nobody knows when either although lots will guess. PR only matters to those directory owners stupid enough to believe it matters and ply their trade to unsuspecting people by claiming PR matters. Any seo company worth their salt will tell you PR is a load of crap.
Ive lost lots of business from lack of pr, theres not much i can do with that, i understand the peoples request too, they are looking for pr if they cant find it at your web directory they will find it elsewhere.
Could anyone explain why PR makes a difference? Lots of people claim it but don't back it up with facts. Before you ask, I can't back it up that it doesn't help.
PageRank is worthless. Directory owners Worship it because they flog links off the PR, thus passing it on to the next idiot, who passes it on........ It doesn't mean a website is good, trusted or if the site 'wearing' PR produces results. You are just feeding Google's reputation and making them money. Some call it the foolbar, as it 'fools' people into believing a certain rank eg: PR5 site is worth something. The only thing that might hold some truth is PR suggests a certain amount of links owned by a website. I don't trust it as have seen many genuine good sites get a low PR, and a few bad sites get awarded in excess of PR5. Ofcourse many different opinions on the web about PR, but nothing is more accurate than the eyes you were given, so look before you judge a site using the Foolbar.
