Are There Any Absolute Standards of Beauty?

    When can we say that a woman is beautiful? Or a thing is beautiful. Do you have any absolute standards of beauty?

    What do you mean by absolute standards? There isn't a quantitative measure of beauty. Beauty is to the eye of the beholden.

    There are no standarads for beauty ...

    But beauty is of two types external and internal...

    As for as beauty is concerned, it is not a quantifiable virtue and as wisdomtool suggested, it varies depending on the eye of the beholder :)

    When it comes to people, studies have shown that symmetry correlates highly with being considered beautiful. But ultimately it does depend on the observer. Beauty in anything else (music, art, nature, etc.) is completely subjective...no standards there.

    I have a standard, it's a very high standard indeed. Many girls that people say are good looking, I consider average. Only the best of the best for me ;)

    I never thought about standards. IMO it depends person to person. You like one but may be your fren dont like whom you like... :) Thats beauty. Always uncertain....
