Alisha, There are various factors Google considers to ban a site. Some of the common ones are: 1> MFA (Made For Adsense) sites will be banned, 2> If you have paid links that Google thinks will alter its ranking algorithm (basically links just to pass PR), sites can be banned, 3> Spammy sites can be banned, 4> Unethical sites (for ex: if sites are spreading spywares and malwares) can be banned, 5> If sites follow blackhat seo strategies, then such sites can be banned... There are lots more, in simple words, any site which falls out of Googles TOS, can potentially be banned Regards, /G
If you are doing black hat seo, mfa, spreading virus, malware in the above condition google will ban your website
Google get's angry when you start acting as a indisciplined lad! You might find this helpful - Google TOS Or in short There is more to google then just these 6 points. Be a good bloke, don't flirt with your adsense and stay happy
If you break the TOS - Terms of Service. Also if you start spamming on forums saying bad things about them, if you make a site called "I HATE GOOGLE" and use Adsense there. A lot more. Just use your imagination
Reply by Konent Solutions is on the dot. I would like to add a few more points. You should build your links at a steady pace. Never go for Google bombing techniques where you get multiple backlinks with the same anchor text in a short span of time. You should use your anchor text wisely so that the link pattern looks natural. Blackhat techniques include techniques to get thousands of backlinks in a short span of time using unethical methods. One example is using a tool called PRStorm to get backlinks. Another is using tools to spam forums and blogs. You should stay away from such tools to avoid Google penalty.
Ranjuse, There is nothing to laugh about it ... It is true that if sites are found selling links (let me be more specific here -- selling links on gambling, pharma or adult oriented), Google penalizes the sites. I'm telling this from personal experience. One of my site had sponsored links to Gambling site. My sites traffic died over night and PR dropped from PR3 to PR0. I should say that I luckily noticed a search query in my search log which was : "site:www.mysite.com casino" I figured that could be the problem. I logged a reconsideration request after deleting all posts related to gambling. My pagerank was back overnight and it traffic is restored now, but it took a while for that . Lesson learnt ! Alisha You can read more about Black Hat SEO here. http://websearch.about.com/od/seononos/a/spamseo.htm Or search what is "what is black hat" in Google. It's huge industry in itself and constantly changing as well /G
My site was de-indexed in April 2006 and after several (about 8) re-inclusion requests it is till de-indexed...is this a loooooooong drawn out penalty or what? I just asked for reconsideration again...unbelievable....I also removed all paid external links...anything else that would help?
