I'd like everybody's opinion about something I've been thinking about doing. My current method of promoting clickbank products (aside from being a publisher) is to write content sites. I like them better because I control the content, and I find I can rank longer in the search engines. Anyways, I'm wondering whether it's economically feasible to pay writers to write my content? Right now I'd like to invest $500/month into this venture. My worries are that I'll get crappy content. I wouldn't mind paying up to $25/piece as long as it's decent quality. What do you guys think? Possible or not? And where should I look to find writers who could provide me with content based on keywords I send them? Thanks DP'ers!
Finding quality freelance writers at a decent price can be very difficult. I've used GetAFreelancer.com & ELance.com with varying degrees of success. I think you have to sort of fish around for a good freelancer and then stick with them once you've found one. I think the idea can work if you your SEO is good and your content is good.
Thats pretty much what I do also, build content sites for clickbank products. I do get articles written for me also at around $5 for a 500 word article so it is very feasible.
Really that sounds great! I've been looking for a good freelancer for that kind of price. Would you mind sharing who writes your articles? Thanks
I completely agree with outsourcing content creation. You'll go through several writers before you get a good one. I find new writers by advertising here and on Elance. I agree with Zibblu that a good writer at a fair price is hard to find. So just keep looking because they are out there.
Sorry buddy, I ended up losing a couple of good writers like that before simply because they started getting too much work and then they wanted more money because they were in higher demand. But in saying that I have got some fantastic writers here off DP but then again I have had some that are utter crap but can talk up their article writing. Just go to the content creation forum and post a job for x amount of articles and the specs you want e.g article length, keyword density , price per word. Make sure you get samples of their work and then if you think they are o.k , give them a couple of keywords to write articles on see how they turn out. Don't prepay for articles but I'd suggest pay after every couple of articles are delivered that way its safer for you and the writer. Some writers will make you cringe when they send you their finished work while the others will be awesome!
Its Alright I understand where your coming from and thanks for the advice. Did you find this guy on these forums?
Thanks for the replies everybody. Think I'm going to check out a couple freelance sites as well as the content creation forums.
Andrew, I would consider offshore outsourcing. The positive factor in building a passive income, is having someone writing content for you, for a ridiculously low price. If you could spend 500-1000 a month, then recoup that and at least double that, you are making a profit and this means less work for more money! the $500 you spend, could mean an extra $500, which could be good for starting a forex account! LOL or doing a few rounds of golf, or having a nice couple of dinners a month!
Absolutely, I've found a few good writers here on DP but be aware they come and go for no particular reason. I just try and send my writers constant work and when they become sick of it or decide to move on to other things I just go looking for new writers.
When you guys build your content sites, how many pages do you usually make them? Do you make a site for just one particular product? Is your homepage a "review" page? Just wanting to get an idea of what others are doing. Thanks
Actually i was asking this very same question all the time. If the domain it self was focus on marketing the product. Well i my self am taking a big step today because i've 90% finish my site which is a Ebay site and i will also use it to market clickbank digital products along with it for that particular niche. So i too am sourcing for content creators and i've found a few decent ones in DP. I just hope they come through for me. As i have made a decent size investment into my first Ebay/Clickbank site which i'm now breaking into these niche markets with, i hope i can return here with a successful story like the others
Many of my content sites have as many as 90 pages. My homepage acts as a jumping off point to my 5 best converting pages. I've achieved conversion rates as high as 4% using this method.
