"Use the Tugachi (multi variant) method to test your landing pages using Google's Website Optimizer. The Conversion Rate Squirrel has an excellent article on the subject. " It's Taguchi (Good tips though.. some new for me and I'll try them, thanks)
I have just receieved a flyer from a local webdesign, internet marketing, traditional marketing, SEO and PPC specialist (I'm sure you all know the ones) In his discription he is talking about acheiving a CRT of 60%, does anyone know the actual CTR for the whole of Google AdWords (i.e. % AdWords and % Natural), of course this is going to vary from keyword to keywords however I would think on avarage the lions share of search traffic will click on the natural results
Wow, 60%, I got less than 1%, terrible How many % does it consider normal ctr? I am reading your website for some advices
High CTR is achieved by a couple factors: 1.) high initial bids 2.) high ad position, (1 to 3) 3.) outstanding ad copy 4.) outstanding keyword selection If you can do those 4 and maintain your high ctr from right out of the gate, eventually your bids will automatically lower.
How well-written your ad is. If it's just like everyone else's, it probably won't get clicked unless you're the only ad on the page. You have to grab their attention.
Suitable ad placement and blending the ads with the contents will help to increase the CTR. The normal range is 2-5% imo
You might want to read up on the success of the owner of plentyoffish.com There's a ton of articles about the guy, and he's one of highest (if not the highest) paid adsense publishers around. It's mainly about positioning your ads. Contextual content can only be controlled to a certain degree.
Relevance. Try to prevent ad-blindness by switching up your colors from time-to-time. Positioning, but don't be too spammy.
Probably means something that sticks out like a sore thumb. Ever wondered why Rich Jerk was so successful a few years back? Well, if I didn't remember wrongly, this was what his ad theme revolved around: The Rich Jerk You're Ugly. So Am I. But I'm Rich. Don't Be Ugly And Poor. TheRichJerk (dot) com I mean who the heck insults his potential customers. But it worked for him, and he was a visionary a few years back, due to his ad's ability to stand out amongst the legions of boring adcopies. Nowadays there are many ways of standing out using a unique ad copy: - Haiku (google about it, and how it helps in ad copy) - Alliteration (Amazing Astounding Abs) (Super Sizzling Secrets) etc. - Blank spaces Free Scholarship . High CTR can be achieved by creating high quality & relevant ad text. Try to use your main keyword (related to product or services) to get more clicks. For example, if you are selling Apple Ink then try to use "Apple Ink" in your Ad Title of Ad text, cos it will help your keyword to be highlighted in Bold. Try to use more specific keywords instead of too general other wise your traffic will not give you much return. appropriate keyword matching option is again a good way to avoid ad appearance on non-relevant queries & thus can increase the CTR.
This is the most obvious and should be step one on trying to get a high CTR. But there is a level after the basics as well, which includes using language in different formats that will cause the reader to be more attracted to your words. Haiku and Alliterations are good examples, especially if you can also include your keyword in the haiku or alliteration. These are more advanced marketing tactics and its things many advertisers attempt to gain that upper hand when everyone in their market place is already writing targeted and qualified text ads. How do you stand out when all listings are written very well?
