Have you registered any domain names that have hypens in them?

Are they being registered quick, or not?

I just registered my first domain with hyphens today so I guess I will see how it does.

    Nice, what one was it?

I picked up a few myself earlier and they are pretty good in my opinion.

    One of them is G-A-S-P-R-I-C-E-S(.)com.

Unless it's a L-L-L.com (in the aftermarket because all gone), or something great like P-O-R-N.com, etc. I'd say don't waste your money

They are useless unless they are short brandable domains

    1) They have no SEO value with hyphens. Google will see G-A-S as "g-a-s". It may as well be gdajs and will not return any results.

    2) Its a lot for someone to type in. Imagine an advert on TV with your domain: G dash A dash S dash.....and so on. Its a mouth-full.

As far as google finding and indexing the site, I have found that it doesn't really matter. My main site has hyphens and I have several others without. Google hasn't discriminated yet.

not really sure unless its a good one its a bit hard to say you will end up paying renewing fees for a few years and end up making no profit anyway.

Sorry, but you're incorrect. Google sees "g-a-s" just like "gas" in terms of SEO. If I type in either way in Google, I get 435,000,000 results.

Thats because gas is the closest word google can make out of g-a-s.

How many of those domains in the search have more than one or two hyphens in them?

I'm not saying it can't be done because you could get cat.com high in google for the keyword "gas" if you had enough backlinks with gas as the anchor text.

    G-A-S-P-R-I-C-E-S(.)com is mine. :)

I guess I should develop it. Would that make it better?

yeah... hyphen domains = lame... unless they are 3-4 or less in length... I don't visit those sites at all... maybe rarely once in 100,000 site views... and I have yet to find one that I'd return to.. Its just more convenient and 'simplifies' the complexities by just not having a name like that.. "hey! did you check out that video on you hyphen tube?!" okay... no.. I'm not going to check it out... ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! shut up about you hyphen tube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) Meep XD 0_o
