If so, under what terms would google do this? What type of site?

maybe will not, because the new page on digg or other will never be sandbox. although squidoo is different, but imo, no sandbox

Google and Yahoo are really friendly with squidoo. The pages get indexed real fast. I was really surprised by this. In fact, if you start a blog and make a squidoo page about it, you're likely to get SE traffic faster

I created a lens just awhile ago to promote a brand new product. I promoted it quite heavily and it began to rank #1 and #2 in Google for my desired keywords. Then after about a week it dropped from the first page...

Now, about a month later it's back at #1 and #2. So SOMETHING happened to it.

This is quite common - a lot of Lensmasters have reported this kind of thing happening. No idea why.

In my experience, Google does keep a watch on lenses, especially with certain topics. These lenses may not get indexed for a while despite having good links pointed at them.
