Does ANYONE watch the intro flash animations?

Or are we just wasting our time and annoying our users?

I always skip the intro animations on sites and go straight to the page. I think must people just don't care about them.

Are there any stats on this? I'm sure new web users are more likely to watch them, but how about the average user?

I don't think it's useful or user-friendly to put a flash intro on a site - in fact, I thought designers stopped making animated intros about 10 years ago.

I never let them load since I have dialup. I think they're stupid anyways.

The only thing more stupid and a sorrier waste of time than a splash page, is a Flash splash page.

    cheers,

I think majority of people use SKIP INTRO for "intro flash animations"..

The goal of people accessing a website should be to get the content as fast as possible. Adding a "road block" splash page just gives the viewer a chance to hit back and browse some other website instead of yours. The only reason to use a splash page is maybe to have some huge announcement (maybe big changes or something), but even that should just be up for a day (or make it so a cookie is placed in the viewer's browser so they only see it once and never again)

I always skip, and if there isn't an option to skip, I just leave immediately and go somewhere else!

I use skip intro. is there is no such skip intro button, I presume that the designer is a retard and cares less about what visitors want. I leave the site if such things occur!

I remember there was a book called skip intro.

To me it really depends on the content. If it interests me I will give it some time. But usually I do skip the intro.

At one time that was the in-thing to do and personally unless you have a compelling reason to add one in then I would just skip it.

Anyone remember the 'skipintro' site? It was just one massive long intro haha..

I try not to use flash at all. If I do, it's because the client has insisted, and even then I'll use it so, so sparingly.

I am not interested in viewing a flash intro, I am more interested in accessing the persons website. I skip them more often than not - especially those with sound on them.
