this may be a dumb question, but when you fill out an application for an ad network, is there anything they can look into to know if you're lying when you tell them how many pageviews etc you have? i just started a brand new site, i dont have 30,000 uniques a month, the site has only been up a few days! im a very honest person, not trying to get over, but i need a network... pleaes help thanks
I gather there is a way for them to check but I don't know what it is. If you are trying to monetize your site the best one out there is Google Adsense. The runner's up are bidvertiser, adbrite, and chitika. Adbrite and Chitika are nice as they are compatible with Google Adsense. Can we have a link to your site you want to monetize?
They can't get your exact traffic stats when you apply, but they can check things over. For example, they can see the domain registration date and records showing the site is very new, probably minimal SERPs, no Alexa rank, etc. So they'll probably realize you don't get 30,000 visits a month if the site hasn't been up for a month. And once you put their ad code on your site, that will reveal your traffic levels anyway. My advice is to look for an ad network that doesn't require so much. Adsense, Adbrite, Chitika, Widgetbucks, ShoppingAds, etc.
What is your site about? You can check out ASE Adnet (located in signature). As long as you have over 2,000 impressions per month and a predominantly USA crowd. But in regards to your question. No we can't tell directly. There are a number of factors that I personally look at including how the site looks, Google PR, Alexa, site links, and others... I get the best information from contacting the person with an email, though. People are very honest and it is easy to see if they lied once they join and use the ads since everything is tracked.
They know how many you get...they incorporate many factors well at least my advertising network does that. Note: My advertising company has temporarily closed its doors to members until later this summer. Also not all networks require 30k/views a month to get into their systems - try bidvertiser, adsense as an alternative! (or adsung when we reopen )
