Do you click on signatures?

Hi,

People pay a lot of money to buy signatures, join different forums and make signatures there.. but do their signatures really get clicks?
What about you? do you click on signatures?

 

I do if it's something I'm interested in. For example - your sig I hate for the following reasons:

1) Bold Red anchor text hurts the eyes, especially when it's really long. It distracts people from reading your actual post content.

2) I have no interested whatsoever in 'make money online' schemes.

3) It violates the TOS here. Read the policies before you post affiliate links in your signature.

But I admit that I have clicked on signatures on this forum before.

 

I do on a daily basis. I like to link up the posters Post with their website

 

I do click if I see something interesting

 

I click sometimes. I actually think I click more if I see that the user isn't "trying" to get clicks.
If they just posted the link without all fancy colors, I think I am more inclined to click (for whatever reason).

You brought up paying for signatures.. that can also be for SEO purposes, not just for clicks.

I'll definitely check out people sigs if it is something that may interest me. I don't ever sell my sig space as some do, I just like to add my latest offers in my sig.

 

Yep! I've contacted several people in the past after going through their signature. If the text is catchy then you can expect some clicks. I even check out the blog feed of people if I find the post title interesting.

 

Anytime it seems interesting and worth the click and time ....
sometimes i can find really good things there

 

People do not really pay for signatures on forums such as this one primarily for advertising, it is usually for backlinks, because for every post made by a member the forum signatures that they present receives one backlink.

This is worth a lot to some people, especially buying a signature from a member who may post 20 or more times a day thats 140 backlinks a week 560 backlinks a month from one member.

I know from cpanel that people definitely DO click. Plus I will get PM's about one thing or another. And I have clicked others sigs that may offer something I am interested in (backlinks, traffic sources, etc)

 

Yes, I will click on a signature if it seems interesting. I've found a lot of useful sites this way.

 

I will click on an interesting looking signature
or
I will click an "interesting person's" signature

 

If the anchor text is good, yes and sometime i even bookmarked those sites which is offering great content or hint.

 

YUp I do click sig links here and I have also have signature links clicked by others.

 

No matter what, I usually just read the sites domain and enter it manually in my browser.

 

i do often, i like to see other peoples sites, gives me ideas, inspiration and something to do when im bored

 

I don't buy or sell siggie space cause that's just my lazy self.

I click on a lot of siggie links if the title of the site is something i'm interested in.

Since profiles on most forums are indexed by search engines, it's a good thing to have some links in your siggie. You never know when someone lands on your profile while searching google for something. It could happen. (Or is this a myth?)

 

well i added my domain to google when i got it, and i mentioned it in a DP thread and it was picking up the DP thread aswell just below my link using some of my keywords
