it depends on the directory itself plus if all links are no follow or just the free links

If the directory generates traffic then I'd definitely buy. Qualified traffic is more valuable than a boost in my SERPs.

would depend on the directory for yahoo directory or yellow pages depending on my business I would however on a no name no (real) traffic site I would not so it all depends on what kind of people are using the site to come and find your site.. as mentioned above qualified traffic is more valuable than SERPs because people are searching the directory to find the product your offering

I voted no. If the site had amazing traffic I would do it...but seeing as .000001% of the directories out there have any real traffic this will never happen.

It would have to be an extraordinary directory. One in a thousand. It would also have to be cheap.

Yes if it offered real traffic which regardless of what loads of people on here say, some actually do.

    Hi

I voted no, I've found generally that directories don't give me too much traffic, and unless the directory had proven high traffic, the paying of a fee would not be beneficial for me in any way.
